The initial registration and login to the DRAKO Rope Calculator is done via our website.
Before the first use you have to register as a user free of charge. For this purpose a registration form has to be filled out and sent. After an internal check, an individual password link is sent, which also contains the user name. The password can then be changed individually.
As you are registered as a user you can log in by your user name and your individual password via the DRAKO Rope Calculator Website und get to the start overview.
Start overview
On the start overview you get the possibility to apply the Drako Rope Calculator, to change the password or to log out via the burger menu.
DRAKO Rope Calculator project overview
The project overview of the DRAKO Rope Calculator shows a list of all calculations and projects saved so far with information about the system-configuration and the selected ropes.
On this overview the user have several options to navigate:
An existing calculation is called and can be changed. The edited calculation can be saved under the existing project name and thus overwritten or saved under a new name. If changes are not saved, they expire.
The quick and easy calculation of rope service life and rope elongation taking into account your technical elevator data is the main field of application of the DRAKO Rope Calculator.
Note: The determined data or suggested PFEIFER DRAKO products are based on the data entered by the user. The ultimate responsibility for the design of the entire installation and compliance with the technical regulations lies with the customer/designer of the elevator.
The input mask for the calculation of a new project is called up via the "Add" button and is divided into 6 areas. We recommend to start the input at 1.1 and to carry out the input up to part 6. Adherence to this sequence is not mandatory, but serves for better orientation.
The system configuration or the type of rope suspension is selected here. The selection can be changed at any time, the numerical values entered up to that point remain.
If available, the data for the compensation are entered here. The default setting of the compensation ropes or chains is 3. If no further data is entered here, this default setting has no effect on the calculation.
The technical data for traction sheave and pulleys are entered here. The undercut angle or wedge angle entry depends on the groove shape used. The number of diameters to be entered for the deflection pulleys depends on the system configuration selected under 1.1.
Here, the DRAKO traction rope and the corresponding diameter are selected via a drop-down menu. The information on the minimum breaking load, the weight per meter and the metalic cross-section are automatically displayed according to the selected rope type and diameter. If the rope type is changed, the rope diameter must be selected again.
Number of trips
Theoretically possible number of trips based on the stored rope data and the system-specific parameters.
Permanent elongation
Shows the permanent elongation of the ropes, depends on the head, rope type and rope diameter.
Deflection at 100 kg
Shows the elastic elongation of the ropes at 100kg payload, depends on the delivery head, number of ropes, rope type and rope diameter.
Spring deflection at payload
shows the elastic elongation of the ropes at full payload, is dependent on delivery height, number of ropes, rope type and rope diameter.
E-modules
These values are automatically displayed and come from the stored basic data of the ropes depending on the load.
D/d ratio
This must always be 40 according to EN81. For certain ropes with special approval, the ratio can be smaller than the required 40, e.g. DRAKO 250T 6mm, 6.5mm and 8mm.
In the free text input fields, basically any numerical value can be entered as a whole number or as a decimal number. Due to the large number of different system configurations, there are no restrictions or warnings here for supposedly impractical values. In the drop-down menus, on the other hand, there are restrictions that reflect minimum requirements and practical orientation. The D/d ratio for traction sheave and deflection sheave(s), which is regulated according to EN 81, is checked for plausibility and displayed accordingly (red exclamation mark for too small ratio, green check mark for correct ratio).
